I joined Domo in April 2011, back when it was known as Corda, a data dashboard company. Through connections I made at Utah JS meetups, I learned that Josh James, after selling Omniture to Adobe, had acquired Corda with the vision to revolutionize the business intelligence market.
This inspired me to apply, and after several interviews, I became one of the original team members, hired as Webmaster. As part of the rebranding effort to Domo, we honored Corda’s legacy with a symbolic "funeral," marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
During my tenure, I witnessed the company grow, raising $200M at a $2B valuation, and had the privilege of participating in our IPO, even ringing the opening bell on Wall Street—a career highlight.
Over nearly 14 years, I contributed to numerous impactful projects across product prototyping, branding, marketing, sales, freemium services, the appstore, developer portal, training, and community initiatives. My role evolved from Webmaster to Senior Web Developer, Senior Manager of Development, and finally Principal Software Engineer/Manager, as I became the go-to resource for all web-related needs. My expertise spanned front-end and back-end development, DevOps, database management, internationalization strategies, performance optimization, SEO, security, and compliance.
Among the projects I’m most proud of are:
Throughout my journey, I collaborated with incredible colleagues, building lifelong friendships while solving complex challenges together. Though I’ll always be a proud "Domosapien," I’m ready to embark on my next adventure.
